B&E CAUGHT ON VIDEO
Brandon Police Service is looking to the public for information about an early-morning break and enter at a business on the 700 block of 10th Street.
The burglar alarm alerted the alarm company at 12:58 a.m. on Thursday. Police say the front door glass was broken and the suspect entered the store, stole the cash float and ran off.
In the video footage, a suspect is seen wearing a black mask, black jacket, grey pants and was in possession of a hammer.
Anyone who has information about the break and enter is being asked to call BPS at 204-729-2345.
WOMAN RESISTS ARREST
On Tuesday at 1:52 p.m., a Brandon police officer on patrol was flagged down near the 200 block of Eighth Street by a taxi driver, who said a woman didn’t pay her fare.
Police say a 46-year-old woman was arrested after resisting officer instructions and resisting arrest. She was charged with fraudulently obtaining transportation and resisting arrest, and given a court date of May 29.
FAMILY CALLS POLICE
An intoxicated 21-year-old woman spent the night in a BPS detention cell after police removed her from a residence in a southeast neighbourhood.
On Wednesday at 10:30 p.m., officers were called to a residence on Cornell Bay about a woman who was causing issues in the home and the family requested her removal.
She was arrested, medically cleared and held at BPS headquarters to be released once sober.
BREACHING COURT ORDERS
Early Thursday morning, Brandon police charged a 35-year-old man for breaching court-ordered conditions of his release.
At 12:43 a.m., officers attended a residence on the 2500 block of McDonald Avenue, where there was an unknown male with a knife, said police.
The man at the residence was found to be in breach of two release orders — not to be in contact, and not to be at that address.
He was taken to BPS headquarters and held in a detention cell for a Thursday appearance in court.
