Colby Pentecost scored every way he could to help the Souris Sabres to a thrilling 30-24 victory over the visiting Vincent Massey Vikings in Westman High School Rugby boys’ 15s action on Tuesday evening.

Pentecost scored a try, a convert and two penalty kicks in a game that ended with a Massey player committing a high tackle to prevent a Souris try, resulting in a penalty try, which is worth seven points.

Grayson Bennett and Jack O’Connor also scored for Souris, while Bowen Teneycke recorded three tries and two converts for Massey with Grady Yon touching the ball down once.

In the girls’ game, Aubrey Skelton and Madison Vandal each had a pair of tires in the Sabres’ 36-5 victory.

Elle McLean kicked three converts for Souris while Kypling Black scored the lone Massey try.

The Crocus Plainsmen visit the Dauphin Clippers in both girls’ and boys’ league play on Thursday.
