Brandon wrestler Taras Fisun earns a gold medal at the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s NL, and he did it in dominant fashion.
The 18-year-old Ukrainian-born wrestler, who moved to Brandon in September 2024, gave up just one point in eight matches as he went unbeaten to capture the men’s individual up-to-85 kg division. He blanked Ontario’s Attila Adamko 4-0 in the final.
“I’m happy,” he told Team Manitoba staff. “It was hard today because he was a good guy from Ontario. But I know what I needed to do.”
