Half a kilo of cocaine seized
A 23-year-old man was arrested after Brandon Police Service executed a search warrant that turned up roughly half a kilogram of cocaine.
Officers with the BPS crime suppression unit executed the search warrant at around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday as part of an ongoing drug investigation, police said in a news release Wednesday.
Police found around half a kilogram of cocaine and seized roughly $10,000 in cash during the search, BPS said.
BPS said it believed the cash was proceeds from crime.
The man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.
The accused was released on an undertaking, the release said. He is scheduled to appear in court in November.
Criminal harassment
A man who was allegedly threatening and harassing his ex-partner was arrested and charged with criminal harassment on Tuesday.
Brandon Police Service officers were sent to the 500 block of Louise Avenue after a report of graffiti on Sept. 2.
When officers arrived, they saw that someone had spray-painted two vehicles and placed a GPS tracking device on one of them, police said in a news release Wednesday.
Police said some of the graffiti appeared to be directed toward a residence at that location.
After an investigation into the ongoing criminal harassment of a 32-year-old woman, police arrested her ex-partner on Tuesday, the release said.
The man, 36, repeatedly messaged and threatened the woman, police said.
He was charged with two counts of criminal harassment and a single count of uttering threats. He was released on an undertaking and scheduled to appear in court in November.
Property damage
Brandon Police Service arrested a man for allegedly damaging property at a business on Tuesday.
Police received a report at around 11:15 a.m. that a man was using a knife to stab an air-conditioning unit at a business on the 600 block of 18th Street.
When officers went to the business, they found a man with a knife in the pocket of his hoodie, police said in a news release Wednesday.
A 22-year-old man, who is on conditions not to possess weapons, was arrested and charged with possessing a weapon, failing to comply with a release order and mischief under $5,000.
He was held in BPS detention cells and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.
