Caleb Edwards recovered a fumble and ran it back for a touchdown as the Vincent Massey Vikings picked up their first win of the Winnipeg High School Football League season on Friday, 35-13 over the host River East Kodiaks.

Cole Vandenberghe had a team-high five tackles, along with a fumble recovery and an interception.

Ethan Smith led the offence with seven carries for 42 yards and a touchdown, while Tobi Oluronsola also rushed in for a score.

Quarterback Charlie Gauthier ran for 42 yards and threw for 38.

The Vikings (1-2) are back on the road next Friday against the Sturgeon Heights Huskies, while the Crocus Plainsmen (1-2) visit the Oak Park Raiders.
