Hannah McGregor piled up 10 kills as the Vincent Massey girls won the Viking Classic final 2-0 (25-18, 25-16) over the Warren Wildcats on Saturday at the Healthy Living Centre.

Zoe Redekop added eight kills for the Vikings, who are still the top-ranked team in AAAA volleyball.

McGregor posted 14 kills in a 2-0 (25-12, 25-14) semifinal victory over the St. Mary’s Flames.

On the boys’ side, the Neelin Spartans swept the Vikings in the semifinals and fell 2-1 (25-22, 30-32, 22-20) to the defending AAAA provincial champion River East Kodiaks in the final.

The Spartan girls continue the Brandon High School Volleyball League season today against the host Crocus Plainsmen, while the Vikings host the Virden Bears in exhibition play. The JV girls start at 6 p.m., with the varsity girls following at 7:30.

On Wednesday, the Neelin boys host Crocus at the same times.

Next weekend is a busy one for Westman volleyball, as 11 high school tournaments are taking place, while the Assiniboine College Cougars women host an exhibition match against the Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks.

The Brandon University Bobcats begin Canada West volleyball action at UBC on Friday.
