• 40 YEARS AGO — Brandon Club bounced Curly MacKay’s 76-55 as Bob McCreath tossed in 23 points and Tom Price added 14 in Brandon Senior Men’s Basketball League action. Frank Bauche and Bruce Lyons were Curly’s top scorers with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Mike Leclerc scored two goals, while Mike Dubinsky, Bobby Brown and Justin Kurtz had singles as the Brandon Wheat Kings tied the Tri-City Americans 5-5 in the WHL.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Brandon native Carson McMillan’s scored his first career WHL goal which proved to be the game-winner, as the 17-year-old cashed in with 4:32 remaining in the third period to give Calgary a 4-3 victory over the Kamloops Blazers.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Brandon Wheat Kings prospect Ian Mitchell had an assist for Canada White as they fell 3-2 to the Czech Republic at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Dawson Creek, B.C.
