Macaya Copeland has certainly adjusted well to Canada West basketball.

The Brandon University guard was named the conference’s player of the week after just her second regular-season weekend.

Copeland dropped 29 points in BU’s 84-77 loss to the host Lethbridge Pronghorns (1-3) on Friday, then scored 20 in a 69-65 victory the following night.

BU improved to 3-1, its best-ever record through four Canada West games.

The Bobcats host the Calgary Dinos (2-0) this Friday and Saturday.

The BU volleyball teams visit the Saskatchewan Huskies this weekend.

Today, the Bobcats women’s soccer team kicks off the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association national tournament against the Ahuntsic Aigles at 4 p.m. CST in Red Deer, Alta.
