Cocaine, unstamped tobacco, $15K seized
The Brandon Police Service arrested a woman after finding cash, cocaine and unstamped tobacco while executing a search warrant on Wednesday.
Members of the BPS’s Organized Crime Section executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on the 700 block of 20th Street at around 7 p.m.
Police found three ounces of cocaine, roughly $15,000 in cash and 60 cartons of unstamped tobacco during the search, BPS said in a news release.
Police arrested a 38-year-old woman, and she was charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The woman was released on an undertaking with a court appearance scheduled in February 2026.
Woman elbowed in face
A man who allegedly assaulted a woman and damaged her apartment was arrested early Thursday morning.
The Brandon Police Service responded to a disturbance at an apartment building on Cornell Bay at around 2 a.m.
When officers arrived, they learned that a man had assaulted a woman by elbowing her in the face, police said.
BPS said the man also broke two windows in her apartment.
Officers arrested a 37-year-old man and charged him with assault and mischief under $5,000.
He was transported to BPS detention cells and held in custody overnight. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
Assault, property damage
The Brandon Police Service arrested a man on Monday after a woman was assaulted.
BPS received a report on Sunday about an assault that took place the day before at a residence on Templeton Drive.
Police said a man allegedly punched, hit and kicked the woman. He also allegedly damaged the property by throwing items inside the home.
Officers arrested a 30-year-old man, and he was charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.
BPS released the man on an undertaking, and he is scheduled to appear in court in February 2026.
