A man who allegedly assaulted another man after he refused his sexual advances was arrested on Thursday.
Officers went to a residence to investigate an assault, and when they arrived, they could hear the assault in progress, the Brandon Police Service said in a news release.
The officers forced open the door and saw the accused on top of a man, punching him in the face, the release said.
Police arrested the suspect and took him into custody after a “brief struggle,” BPS said.
After further investigation, the officers found out that the suspect had “initiated unwanted sexual advances” on the other man, and when he refused, the suspect started punching him in the face and head, police reported.
The man was charged with assault and sexual assault. He was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
