The IshKaabatens Waasa Gaa Inaabateg Department of Visual Art Speaker Series presents Kevin McKenzie today at 11:30 a.m. McKenzie, an assistant professor at BU, has exhibited nationally and internationally in 30 years of art practice and his artwork is represented in collections of the National Art Gallery of Canada, the MacKenzie Art Gallery and more.
The Bobcats have finished their first-half sport schedules, but the Healthy Living Centre will still be bouncing tonight with the Holiday Hoops Camp, from 6 to 8 o’clock. The fun co-ed camp is open to all youth from Grades 3 to 10, and all experience levels. Registration is by monetary donation or a new, unwrapped toy. More details are available at GoBobcats.ca.
Several student musical ensembles will hold their final fall term performances this week. The BU Brass Ensemble will perform a Christmas concert tonight at 7:30 in the Lorne Watson Recital Hall. On Wednesday, the BU Concert Choir and the BU Chorale will perform at Knox United Church, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The BU Piano Ensemble’s fall-term finale will take place on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall. A visual art student showcase is taking place this week at Glen P. Sutherland Gallery of Art, featuring work from students in four courses. Gallery hours are from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., from Wednesday to Saturday.
Brandon University Theatre presents “Mother Courage and her Children,” a dark comedy with music, from Wednesday to Sunday. Show times are at 7 p.m., from Wednesday to Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Evans Theatre. More show and ticket information is available at Events.BrandonU.ca.
