• 40 YEARS AGO — Ron Gobiel scored three goals to pace the Unwinder Bulldogs to a 7-2 Shilo and District Men’s Broomball League victory over the Hyundai Stallions. Warren Boles added two goals for the Bulldogs, while Dennis Kelly and Glen Robinson both scored once.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Rookie Ryan Robson had two goals to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 7-2 WHL victory over the Regina Pats. Bobby Brown, Mike Leclerc, Peter Schaefer, Kelly Smart and Cory Cyrenne added singles.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Ben Ritchie scored twice to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 6-2 victory over the Central Plains Capitals in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League. Jason Rathwell, Brandon Lockerby, Shayne Wiebe and Ian Campbell also scored for the Wheat Kings.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Daniel Taillefer of the Steinbach Pistons tallied six points in three games to earn him the Manitoba Junior Hockey League Recycle Everywhere Player of the Week honour. The 20-year-old forward scored once and added five assists as the Pistons (26-8-2) went 2-1.
