BROKEN WINDOW LEADS TO DRUG BUST
A man was arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking on Monday.
A woman called the Brandon Police Service at around 5 p.m. and said that a man, who she knew, broke one of the windows at her residence on the 1200 block of 10th Street.

When officers arrived, they saw a man trying to leave the area in a taxi, BPS said in a news release.
Police arrested the man and, during a search, found individually wrapped powder and crystal substances, which police believed to be cocaine and methamphetamine, the release said.
The 20-year-old man was released with a court appearance scheduled in February.

PICKLE FEST RETURNS
Pickle Fest Brandon is coming back to the Wheat City next August.
This year’s festival is set for Saturday, Aug. 22, in downtown Brandon, the organization announced on its Facebook page earlier this week.
Aside from the festival being pickle-themed and based on previous Brandon Pickle Fests from the 1990s, the organization didn’t share what this year’s event will entail.
