ASSAULT AT HOTEL
The Brandon Police Service arrested a man on Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted his wife at a hotel.
Police received a report of a disturbance in one of the rooms at the Canad Inns at around 10:40 p.m., BPS said in a news release Wednesday.
After an investigation, officers arrested a 37-year-old man and charged him with assault.
Police said they took the man, who was “highly intoxicated,” to BPS detention cells and he would be released on an undertaking once sober.
The man is scheduled to appear in court in March.
ARREST AFTER SHOTS FIRED
Mounties arrested a man on Monday after he allegedly fired a sawed-off shotgun several times and threatened to shoot a man in Ebb and Flow First Nation.
Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP responded at around 11 p.m. after receiving a report of the shots fired and found the man at a friend’s residence, RCMP said in a news release on Wednesday.
Mounties arrested the man without incident and seized a firearm from inside the home, RCMP said.
No one was injured, the release said.
Cyril Levasseur, 24, was charged with several firearms-related offences along with single counts of uttering threats and failing to comply with a release order.
A 28-year-old woman who had a warrant out for her arrest was also arrested at the scene for an unrelated matter.

The woman was last seen wearing a white jacket, and she is described as five-foot-eight and roughly 170 pounds, with red hair and green eyes.
