The International Peace Garden is offering free entry on Wednesdays for seniors age 55 and older.
The park, located at the Canada-U.S. border south of Boissevain, announced the new initiative on Thursday. It is now in effect and will run through April.
As well, an educational presentation, a walk through the conservatory, a craft activity and tea will be offered every second Wednesday afternoon starting Feb. 11.
“We hope to encourage seniors and people of all ages to get out and enjoy our beautiful conservatory,” Peace Garden CEO Tim Chapman said in a news release Thursday.
“This program creates an opportunity for people to enjoy the beauty of nature in winter and early spring, in any kind of weather,” Chapman added.
The conservatory was recently remodelled in an effort to encourage visitor interaction.
A schedule of events has been posted to the International Peace Garden’s website, listing details on what to expect from programming on select Wednesdays until April.
