Three Ebb and Flow First Nations men have been arrested after Mounties received reports of theft and a break and enter on Wednesday.
A truck was reported to be taken without consent from Ebb and Flow First Nation at around 9:40 a.m., and roughly three hours later, RCMP received a report that someone had stolen multiple bottles of liquor from a business in Dauphin.
The suspect and the vehicle they left the business in matched the description from the earlier incident, RCMP said in a news release on Friday.
RCMP patrolled the area in search of the suspect.
At around 1:05 p.m., Mounties received a report of an armed break and enter at a rural property in the RM of Ochre River. The description of the suspect and vehicle matched with the descriptions provided in relation to the earlier incidents, police said.
While patrolling the area, Mounties found three people inside the suspect vehicle, the release said.
Police tried to get the vehicle to pull over, but the driver refused, RCMP said.
Mounties tracked the vehicle toward Ste. Rose du Lac and used a spike belt on the vehicle on Highway 5 near Ste. Rose Central Road.
The vehicle continued before driving into a boulevard and getting stuck, police said.
After a short foot chase, police took three men into custody.
Wade Garret Houle, 28, was charged with two counts each of theft under $5,000, dangerous driving and flight from police, along with single counts of possessing break and enter instruments, theft of a motor vehicle, possessing property obtained by crime and resisting arrest.
Houle was remanded into custody.
Ernest Beaulieu, 43, and Martin Houle, 39, were each charged with flight from police and resisting arrest.
Both were released on a release order.
