The Assiniboine College Cougars finished their regular season with a pair of shutout victories over the Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks in American Collegiate Hockey Association’s women’s Division 2 action.

On Saturday at the Bottineau Lumberdome, Clair Merckx made 23 saves, Brooke Cyr had a hat trick and Montana Jubenvill and Katie Falkevitch sniped in a 5-0 victory.

Olivia Vaagen made 48 saves for Dakota College.

On Sunday at the Sportsplex, Madison Haliuk and Veronica Smarz both scored twice and Jenna Walker, Katie Falkevitch, Hailey Sitter, Isabelle Gottselig, Kasey Fouillard and Kali Remillard also sniped in a 10-0 victory.

Rachel Halldorson made 19 saves for the shutout, with Riley Richardson, Vaagen and Caitlin Fillion stopping 36 shots for Dakota College.

Assiniboine is 23-2 on the season — they last lost on Nov. 8 — and on a 19-game winning streak. Their goalies have posted a dozen shutouts this season and they have outscored their opponents 126-20.

The Cougars, who remain the top-ranked team in the West Region, head to the 2026 ACHA national championships from March 15 to 19 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis.
