The Manitoba Winter Games in Thompson have just one day remaining after action in seven sports on Friday.

• BADMINTON — In the team U15 mix, West went 0-3, and in the semifinal fell 4-0 to Winnipeg Blue.

In the U17 mix, West also went 0-3 and in the semifinal lost 3-2 to Winnipeg Blue.

• CROSS COUNTRY SKIING — After a day off on Friday, six events are planned for today.

• CURLING — In the mixed doubles U18 event at the Burntwood Curling Club, West-1 — the Swan River duo of Ryder Kushniryk and Lexie Leadbeater — went 0-4 in the round-robin, losing 6-3 to Winnipeg Gold-1 late Thursday and 9-2 to East-1 on Friday.

In the fifth-place vs fifth-place game on Friday, West-1 fell 6-5 to North.

In Pool B, West-2 (the Carberry duo of Taeven McCutchin and Abbey Snowden) went 3-1, falling 6-1 to Winnipeg Blue-1 last Thursday and beating North 7-1 on Friday.

That vaulted them into the semifinals against Winnipeg Gold-2, where they lost 7-3.

• FIGURE SKATING — In the singles star 5 mix, Justice Tremblay of Russell skated to a score of 23.87 on Friday, which combined with her 22.26 on Thursday, gave her a score of 46.13 to win gold.

Haleigh Cuvelier of Brandon (20.93-20.51, 41.44) took bronze.

In the singles star 6/7 mix, Mia du Plessis of Virden took bronze (19.25-24.90, 44.15), while Evie McAdam of Virden (16.28-24.07, 40.35) was fifth and Luke Greenbank of Moosomin (18.29-20.98, 39.27) was seventh.

In the singles pre-novice mix, Kaylee Malcolm of Elkhorn posted a score of 23.04 in the short program and Ainslee McGregor of Waskada earned a score of 23.92. The free program ended after deadline.

• FUTSAL — In U14 female action at the Bill Comaskey Gymnasium, West was 1-2 in the round-robin going into its final game last night against East, with a 6-0 win over North late Thursday and a 3-0 loss to South on Friday.

The top two of the five teams advance to the final.

In the six-team U14 male division, West beat North 5-2 in the fifth-place game, with two goals each from Brandon’s Igor Maksymiv and Ethan Langston, and a single from Edward Villalta.

• HOCKEY — In the U14 female division, West-2 went 1-1 in pool play, lost 3-0 to South-2 in the quarterfinals and fell 6-0 to South in their consolation game.

Meanwhile, West-1 went 0-2 in pool play and fell 4-2 to East in the quarterfinals, with their goals coming from Rylee Wilson of Neepawa and Emery Derlago of Brandon.

Their consolation game against North took place after deadline.

• SPEED SKATING — In the 200m U14 female heats, Sophia Forbes of Brandon finished in 24.933 seconds, Zoe Forbes in 23.591 seconds and Anvi Patel in 34.088 seconds. In the final, Zoe Forbes earned bronze in 23.615 seconds, with Sophia Forbes finishing in 24.993 seconds and Patel in 31.713 seconds.

In the 200m U14 male heats, Hayden Pulleyblank of Brandon finished in 24.050 seconds, Alexander Fouillard of Shilo in 33.560 seconds and Titus Pinette of Brandon in 38.110 seconds.

In the semifinal, Pulleyblank posted a time of 23.396 seconds, but he did not start in the final. Fouillard finished in 27.554 seconds and Pinette in 37.826 seconds.

In the U18 500m female division, Madelyn Nairn of Brandon finished in 57.332 seconds in the heat and 57.582 in the final to earn bronze.

In the U18 500m male division, West’s Alex Yaschyshyn of Winnipeg finished outside the medals.

In the 1,500m U14 female heat, Zoe Forbes finished in 3:00.079, Sophia Forbes in 3:02.119 and Patel in 4:28.619. All 1,500 finals are today.

In the 1,500m U14 male heat, Pulleyblank finished with the third fastest time in 3:05.805 and Fouillard in 3:40.879. In the 1,500m U18 female heat, Nairn finished in second in 3:14.481

In the 1,500m U18 male heat, Yaschyshyn was fourth.

• WRESTLING — Danylo Litvinov of Brandon won gold in the individual 57-kg male, Daxton Brock of Minnedosa took silver in individual 76-kg male, and Marshall McKay of Brandon earned gold in 85-kg male.

In the individual 52 kg female, West’s Rose Hoa Hong Langill of Winkler earned bronze.
