Tire-slashing video sought
Brandon police are asking the public to provide video of Wednesday’s tire-slashing spree.
The Brandon Police Service received more than 70 reports of slashed tires in the city’s south end, BPS said in a news release Thursday.

Police asked that anyone who may have relevant footage, including from security cameras and dash cameras, upload it using the QR code posted on BPS’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
BPS said the situation remains under investigation and “officers are working diligently to identify those responsible.”
Armed robbery
A man who allegedly robbed a store at knifepoint on Wednesday, walking away with a sandwich, faces several charges, including armed robbery.
The Brandon Police Service received a report of a store being robbed on the 300 block of 18th Street North at around 2 p.m., during which the suspect stole a $10 sandwich, BPS said in a news release.
After watching surveillance footage and getting a description of the suspect, officers arrested a man on the David Thompson Bridge and found a knife in his jacket pocket, police said.
The 44-year-old man, who police said was highly intoxicated, was arrested and charged with armed robbery, possessing a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
He was held in BPS detention cells and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
Ex-partner assaulted
Brandon police arrested a woman after a man reported that he had been assaulted by his ex-partner.
The 33-year-old man went to the Brandon Police Service’s headquarters at around 12:30 a.m. on Monday to report the alleged assault.
He said the woman punched him in the face and pulled his beard during an argument, BPS said in a news release Thursday.
Police arrested the 34-year-old woman at her home and charged her with assault.
She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in May.
