• Noon — The third annual Little River Relics Vintage Snowmobile Indoor Show n’ Shine will be held at the Minnedosa Golf and Curling Complex (61 Sixth St. SW, Minnedosa) from noon to 5 p.m. This is an indoor-only event. From original survivors to full restorations and race sleds, this is the place to see some seriously impressive vintage iron under one roof.

• Daly House Museum (122 18th St., Brandon) — Built in 1882, original home of Brandon’s first mayor, Thomas Mayne Daly. Artifacts include a collection of late 19th-century and early 20th-century furnishings, First World War memorabilia. Daly House in partnership with the Brandon Embroiderers presents “The Art of Embroidery: Past and Present,” an exhibit featuring more than 100 embroidery pieces dating from the 1800s to the present. Exhibit is on display until May 20. Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Admission: $7 adults; $6 seniors and youth (6-18); family (up to two adults and three children), $13; children under five, free. • Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Unit 2, 710 Rosser Ave., Brandon) — Free admission. Manitoba’s oldest centre for visual art and one of Canada’s first since 1907. The AGSM boasts two exhibition spaces, an art school and gift shop that supports more than 70 local Manitoba artists. In the Kayes Family Community Gallery are two exhibitions on until June 6, the “Tears of Truth” bead curtain project created by Brandon area students and community members; and “Reconciliation, Resilience and Red” by Justina McKay. The Main Gallery is closed as they prepare for the Annual Art Auction Fundraiser and Gala on April 30. Tickets are on sale now. • April 18 — The Glenboro Ag Society is pleased to be hosting its second annual meat-smoking competition, “Smoke Your Face Off II,” at the Glenboro Community Hall. Enjoy a one-hour tour of the sugar bush and maple syrup operation led by syrup maker Dave Barnes at 11 a.m. If conditions are right, we will be boiling syrup in the evaporator and sap will be dripping into the pails. After your tour, stay and purchase pancakes with fresh maple syrup, bacon and coffee to enjoy at picnic tables around the bonfire. Tours cost $5 per person, cash and credit/debit card accepted. • April 22 — The Brandon Riverbank Inc. is pleased to invite you to the grand opening of the largest solar array in our city. We are proud to have collaborated with Sustainable Brandon, Climate Action Team Manitoba, Efficiency Manitoba and Westman Solar Solutions to being this project to life. Come and help us celebrate and to learn how Brandon Riverbank will utilize this system to become an educational hub for solar energy. This event takes place on Earth Day with opening ceremonies at 2 p.m. and a come and go open house from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
• April 23 — Our Dark History Pub Crawl with the City of Brandon Parks and Recreation Services returns. Brandon’s early years were filled with jewel thieves, strange liquor laws, corruption, murder and unsolved mysteries. Join us to learn more. Cost is $20 and space is limited. • April 23-25 — The Assiniboine Theatre Company and the Brandon University Theatre are joining forces to present William Shakespeare’s beloved comedy “Twelfth Night” at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Tickets are available at the WMCA box office or by calling 204-728-9510.
• April 25 — The Brandon Kiwanis Club bike auction will take place in the Brandon Curling Club at the Keystone Centre. The Brandon Kiwanis Club has a contractual arrangement with the Brandon Police Service to sell bicycles that they collect through theft and other means. People can reclaim their bicycle if they can provide proof that it was stolen from them, usually a picture and a serial number is all that is required. We also obtain and sell donated bicycles. Auction starts at 10 a.m. with viewing at 9 a.m. All sales are final. All proceeds from the sale are used for community projects.
• April 26 — The Arts West Council and the Killarney Turtle Mountain Arts Council are proud to present the 47th annual Westman Juried Art Show at the United Church C.E. Centre Hall (430 Williams Ave.. Killarney). The show features the work of Westman Region adult and youth artists. Jurors will select 20 pieces for the Travelling Gallery, which will tour communities in the Westman region for the next year. The show will be open to the public from 1:30 to 4 p.m. with the opening ceremony at 2 p.m. Silver collection. For further information, call 204-726-0493. Deadline to entry artwork is April 16.
• April 28 — Trinity United Church (1515 Sixth St.) is hosting a roast beef supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults; $10 for children 6-12 years; under 6 are free. Tickets are available Sundays at Trinity office. Only 200 sold. For more information, call 204-728-4796.
