Bear-mace attack
A 16-year-old boy faces several charges, including assault with a weapon, after he allegedly sprayed a man with bear mace in downtown Brandon on Friday.
Officers with the Brandon Police Service responded to a report that a 30-year-old man had been sprayed with bear mace in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue at around 1 p.m.

The victim was treated at Brandon Regional Health Centre and later released, police said.
Officers found the suspect nearby and arrested him. They found he was also on a court order not to possess any weapons, BPS said.
The teen was charged with assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of failing to comply with his probation.
He was held at BPS overnight and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
Ex-partner assault
Brandon police arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted a woman on Sunday.
Police were called to an apartment unit on the 700 block of Ninth Street at around 1 p.m. after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance.
A man who lives at the apartment was in an argument with his ex-partner, during which he allegedly “forcefully grabbed” her while trying to get her to leave with him, Brandon Police Service said in a news release.
When police arrived, the man was already gone, BPS said.
Police later found and arrested the 47-year-old accused, who was charged with assault.
BPS released the man on an undertaking, and he is scheduled to appear in court in July.
