WINNIPEG – Police say a cannabis store employee in Winnipeg was sexually assaulted during a robbery. 

They say a man entered the store in the Centennial neighbourhood on Tuesday, waited for a customer to leave and locked the door.

They say he then went behind the counter and sexually assaulted the 24-year-old female worker.

Police say she pushed the man away and fled the store.

They say the man then left with an unknown quantity of cannabis products.

A 33-year-old man was later arrested and charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement and theft under $5,000.
