• 60 YEARS AGO — Brandon’s Bob Allen made the eight-man Manitoba team that was slated to compete in the Canadian judo championships in Edmonton.
• 50 YEARS AGO — The Wolves got goals from five different players to defeat Gators 5-1 in a Brandon Senior Soccer League game. Price Harrison, Marty Kulchynski, Gerald Rocan, Steve Sullivan and Bob Bauche scored for the winners.
• 40 YEARS AGO — Hope Shelvey scored twice and Melissa Druwe had the shutout as the Stingers beat the Barbarians 3-0 in Brandon Women’s Soccer action. Krista Smith chipped in with the other Stinger goal.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Marlow Knight singled, doubled and tripled to lead Applebee’s Expos to an 8-7 triumph over the Stratego Young Guns in the MacArthur Truck & Trailer Baseball League at Westbran Stadium.
