• 60 YEARS AGO — Bob Pineo drove in two runs in the top of the ninth inning to give Molsons a 6-5 Brandon and District Commercial Fastball League win over Forresters. Bob Shinske was the winning pitcher.
• 50 YEARS AGO — Dave Knock, Marty Kulchynski and Price Harrison scored goals to lead Wolves to a 3-2 win over Spartans in a Brandon Senior Soccer League game. Dave Bebbington and Ed Turner replied for the winners.
• 40 YEARS AGO — Joan Horner’s two goals gave Minnedosa a 3-1 win over the Barbarians in a Brandon Senior Men’s Soccer League game. Marie Smith also scored for the winners, while Laurie Robertson replied for the Barbarians.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Sean McKiernan and Guenther Roth scored as Park Avenue Squash beat host Minnedosa 2-1 in Brandon Men’s Soccer League action. Steve Smith scored the lone goal for Minnedosa.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Carson McMillan pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings and went 3-for-3 at the plate as the Crocus Plainsmen beat the Pilot Mound Pilots 8-2 in the Maple Leaf Pork Baseball Classic final.
