Brandon University is scheduled to have four graduation ceremonies today and tomorrow.

The ceremonies are set to take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on both days at BU’s Healthy Living Centre at 2010 Louise Ave.

“Convocation is an event our graduates will cherish for many years to come, and our staff and faculty have put in a tremendous effort to make the occasion special,” BU registrar Andrea McDaniel said in a news release.

“I feel privileged to welcome each of them as they cross the stage, and the joy and satisfaction they feel are uplifting for our entire team.”

A total of 530 students are expected to receive their degrees, the university said.

Faculty of Science and School of Music students are scheduled to cross the stage this morning, followed by Faculty of Education students in the afternoon. Faculty of Health Studies students are slated to graduate Friday morning and Faculty of Arts students will wrap up the ceremonies that afternoon.

The ceremonies are open to the public and will be livestreamed on the university’s website.

BU president Christine Bovis-Cnossen is also scheduled to be formally installed during this morning’s ceremony. Bovis-Cnossen took over as president and vice-chancellor last September.

The intersection of Louise Avenue and James Ehnes Way (20th Street) will be closed during the ceremonies and parking in BU lots will be free.
