Police are asking for the public’s help finding a suspect after an 82-year-old man in Dauphin was pulled down a set of stairs Tuesday evening.
At approximately 7 p.m. police were called to the 200 block of Main Street North, where the attack took place, RCMP said in a news release Thursday.
RCMP said the suspect, who didn’t live at the multi-unit building, was going through trash behind the complex when he was told to leave by the elderly victim.

The suspect then grabbed the victim, who police said was walking down a set of stairs, punched him and dragged him down the staircase by his leg.
The victim suffered minor injuries and the suspect ran away.
He was last seen walking south down the back alley.
Dauphin RCMP released photos on Thursday of a man they are treating as a suspect in the incident.
He is described as at least five-foot-11, thin and was wearing a red jacket with white lettering.
He was also wearing black shoes with white soles with what police said was a logo, or lettering, near the toe.
Anyone with information should call Dauphin RCMP at 1-204-622-5050, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or report it online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.
