Cason Burton and Jaxon Woychyshyn were named provincial all-stars as the Vincent Massey baseball team earned a silver medal at the Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association championship in Portage la Prairie on Saturday.
The Vikings beat the Steinbach Sabres 15-9 to reach the gold-medal game, but the Northlands Parkway Nighthawks defeated them 8-6.
At soccer provincials in Steinbach, the Vikings earned a bronze medal with a 7-1 triumph over the Vincent Massey Trojans.
The Vikings fell 3-2 to the champion Daniel McIntyre Maroons in the semifinals.
At softball provincials in Crystal City, the Vikings lost 3-2 to the Jeanne-Sauve Olympiens in the third-place game. Massey fell 3-1 to eventual runner-up St-Joachim/Real-Berard, which lost 9-2 to Stonewall in the final.
Massey’s Quinn Twordik made the all-star team.
