The Brandon Police Service received a report early Saturday morning that a 27-year-old woman had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend after an argument between the two escalated, BPS said in a news release.
Police found and arrested a 24-year-old man at his residence on Monday and charged him with assault, assault with a weapon, assault by choking and uttering threats.
The man was brought to BPS headquarters and was later released on an undertaking.
He is scheduled to appear in court in August.
