Brandon police are appealing for information from the public following a hit-and-run on Saturday that left a cyclist injured.

Brandon Police Service Staff Sgt. Jeff Hoad told the Sun officers were called to a hit-and-run in the 1600 block of Stickney Avenue at around 4:30 p.m.

Witnesses stated that a black SUV struck a cyclist from behind and drove away without any attempt to check on the cyclist or provide them with details, BPS told the Sun in an email on Monday.

An ambulance transported the 25-year-old man who was on the bike to the hospital, where he remained as of Sunday evening, police said.

BPS said the situation remains under investigation, and anyone with information about the hit-and-run should contact BPS or Crime Stoppers.
