• 60 YEARS AGO — Souris Cardinals dumped St. Lazare Athletics 9-5 in Manitoba Senior Baseball League action. Garry Fallis and Jim Neilson both hit a double and a single.

• 50 YEARS AGO — Roy McLachlan, pitching with a cast on his broken wrist, won his first game of the season with relief help from Bob Thompson as Brandon Cloverleafs beat out Angusville Cardinals 6-3.

• 40 YEARS AGO — Imports Wally Trice and Corey Way combined for a five-hit shutout and Terry Kiliwnik slammed a solo home run as the Binscarth Orioles downed Moosomin Generals 2-0 in Manitoba Senior Baseball League action.

• 30 YEARS AGO — Rob Houston hit three home runs and added three singles to lead the Athletics past Domino’s Pizza 21-7 in a Brandon Merchants Fastball League game.

• 20 YEARS AGO — Travis Cline hurled a one-hitter as the Houston’s Hitmen shut down the Century 21 Sox 9-0 in a MacArthur Senior AA Baseball League game at Kinsmen Stadium.

• 10 YEARS AGO — Brandon gymnast Quinn Skrupa has earned a spot on Canada’s youth women’s artistic gymnastics team. The 13-year-old Skrupa, a member of the Brandon Eagles Gymnastics team, took the all-around national title in the novice division in June.
