• 60 YEARS AGO — Brandon Manco Kings blanked Souris 10-0 in Manitoba Juvenile Baseball League playoff action.
• 50 YEARS AGO — The Olympians beat the Gators 9-1 in the Brandon Senior Soccer League.
• 40 YEARS AGO — The Brandon Ladies Club team of Grace Lindenberg, Alex Town, Mary MacPherson and Nuala Foley shot a combined gross of 199 to capture the ladies interclub event at Glen Lea.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Gord Stuart was an RBI machine in the Brandon Merchants Fastball League. Stuart drove in seven runs with a grand slam, solo homer and two singles to lead Brandon Avenue Electric to a 25-23 triumph over Little Italy at the BMHC diamonds.
• 20 YEARS AGO — The Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed forward Ryan Craig after a solid rookie season. Craig, a 24-year-old from Abbotsford, B.C., had 15 goals and 13 assists in 48 games in his rookie campaign with the Lightning. The former Brandon Wheat Kings captain began the season with the AHL’s Springfield Falcons and had 12 goals and 14 assists in 28 games before joining the Lightning.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Bradwardine product Ian Lowe re-signed with the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL, where he served as team captain last season.
