• 60 YEARS AGO — Northern Auto beat ANAF 10-4 in Brandon Minor Baseball Association West End action. Elwood Hebler and Grant Miller both led Northern with a bases loaded triple and a single.
• 50 YEARS AGO — Kevin Maleschuk pitched a one-hitter and Ken Maleschuk stroked a pair of doubles leading Legion to an easy 25-0 win over Western Concrete in a Brandon Minor Baseball Association Bantam B game. Doug Vestby contributed a homer, double and single to the winners’ 15-hit attack.
• 40 YEARS AGO — Brandon Barbarians upped their record to 8-1 in the Manitoba Rugby Union’s Second Division with a 37-6 victory over Sturgeon Creek. Pat Mosiuk had three tries for the Barbarians. Other tries came from Shane Benson, Jeff Willis, Rob Smith, Doug Filipchuk and Wayne Gross.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Andy Boehm went 4-for-4 at the plate and pitched two scoreless innings as the Neepawa Farmers buried the Riverside Canucks 9-2 in Manitoba Senior Baseball League playoff action.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Jamie Hodson hit a two-run homer and a run- scoring single to spark the Virden Oilers to a 19-12 victory over the Deloraine Royals in a SouthWest Baseball League playoff game. The Oilers took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three quarter-final.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Former Brandon Wheat Kings defenceman Daniel Tetrault is starting his professional coaching career in a familiar location. The 36-year-old Tetrault has been hired as an assistant coach by the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL, the team he closed out his pro playing days with after the 2014-15 season.
