• Day — Canada’s National Arabian Championship 2026 will be held at the Keystone Centre featuring up to 400 horses across all Arabian and Half Arabian disciplines over the next 10 days. • 3 p.m. — Rural Arts Westman (RAW) public art exhibition RE/Fenestration has transformed the vacant storefront windows of Brandon’s Town Centre (800 Rosser Ave.) into a walk-through exhibition featuring the work of 15 regional artists. The project reimagines a public space as a place for creativity, reflection and community, inviting visitors to experience contemporary art in an unexpected setting. The public is invited to the opening reception from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. Exhibition runs until Nov. 28.

• 6 p.m. — Downtown Cruise Night takes place in downtown Brandon on Rosser Avenue between Sixth Street and 13th Street from 6 to 9 p.m. People wishing to show their vehicles are encouraged to enter the event at the intersection of Rosser Avenue and 13th Street. • 6:30 p.m. — City of Brandon Parks and Recreation presents Open Mic Night. Will be held at the Riverbank Discovery Centre at 6:30 p.m. This is a free event. Open to music, comedy, poetry and more.

• 7 p.m. — Music in the Park at the Jubilee Stage in Victoria Park in Virden (Seventh Avenue South and Seymour Street West) features Marielis Fernandez Mora and Mark Branker at 7 p.m. The Legion will be hosting a barbecue at each concert throughout the summer starting at 6:15 p.m. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Legion Hall (540 Eighth Ave.).

• Day — The fourth annual Jordan Old Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at the Wheat City Golf Course. • Daly House Museum (122 18th St., Brandon) — Built in 1882, original home of Brandon’s first mayor, Thomas Mayne Daly. Artifacts include a collection of late 19th-century and early 20th-century furnishings, First World War memorabilia. Daly House, in partnership with Keywest Photo Images by Design, present Between the Cold: Prairie Light for a Wheat City, a photographic exhibit that explores the spaces that define Prairie life — not the extremes, but the intervals that exist between them. The exhibit features works by Gail Barre, Douglas Fraser, Brian Milne, Rob Lovatt, Katy Martin, Ron Nordstrom, Stino Scaretta and Pat Stone and will be on display until Oct. 1. • Aug. 15 — Join us at the 138th annual Glenboro Agricultural Fair and Demolition Derby held at the Glenboro Community Hall and Fairgrounds. Admission for 12 and up is $10; children under 12 are free. • Aug. 20 — Shilo Roots Youth Centre presents OP Shilo from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come explore CFB Shilo and visit military units, community services, and key locations while collecting stamps, completing fun challenges and learning about the people who help make the base community thrive. • Aug. 21-23 — The Killarney Lakeside Festival presented by the Killarney Turtle Mountain Arts Council will be held at the Westoba Community Stage. Your $75 weekend pass (adults) or $40 (ages 9-17) includes more than 10 concerts, a fabulous Sunday morning brunch, workshops and so much more. Featuring Mama Sol James as emcee.

• Aug. 22 — The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration takes place at the Minnedosa Community Conference Centre at 7 p.m. Ten years ago, Canadians came together to witness the band’s unforgettable final concert.
