Domestic violence
A 26-year-old man is facing two assault charges after he allegedly hit his former partner and son, police say.
The man went to his former partner’s residence on Cornell Bay around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday to pick up his child, Brandon police said in a news release on Wednesday.

Police said the parents got into an argument that led to the 27-year-old woman and youth being struck.
The man fled the scene before police arrived at the house. He later turned himself in at the police station, police said.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 26.
In a separate incident, a man was charged in connection to an assault involving his ex-partner on Tuesday.
Brandon police were called to a residence on the 100 block of Fifth Street around 8:30 p.m. after an argument occurred between two people, police said.
Officers said a man pushed a 19-year-old woman to the ground and choked her during a fight.
An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and assault by choking.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 29.
Sexual assault
A 24-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault after a woman reported she had been sexually assaulted by her partner, police said.
Officers were called to the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday in response to a report of sexual assault involving a 26-year-old woman.
The woman said the sexual assault occurred on Monday evening, police said.
Police located the man shortly after speaking with the woman at the hospital.
He was arrested and released on an undertaking. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 15.
