The City of Brandon is holding a grand opening on Saturday for a new diversion depot at the Eastview Landfill.
Residents will be able to tour the area, ask questions and enter to win prizes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the city said in a news release Tuesday.
Recycling, organic waste, scrap metal and 12 other materials can be disposed of at the diversion depot.
The new site will be open during landfill hours and replaces the recycling depot that was previously open 24 hours a day.
Residents using the landfill are also now required to enter through the depot, where staff will direct them where to dispose materials.
