INDECENT ACT
A man was arrested on Wednesday after an incident involving public masturbation in Brandon.
A 38-year-old man surrendered to the Brandon Police Service on Wednesday afternoon for an incident that occurred in a parking lot on July 23, police said in a news release on Thursday.
The man was charged with committing an indecent act in a public place and was released on an undertaking.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 16.
VEHICLE THEFT
A youth has been charged with stealing a Ford Bronco from a residence on Clark Drive.
Brandon police were called to the home on Wednesday around 2:30 p.m.
Police said the vehicle’s owner left a key fob inside the SUV before briefly going back into their home. When they came back outside, the vehicle was gone.
The vehicle’s GPS system located the Bronco at a restaurant on the 200 block of 18th Street North. Police went to the scene while the vehicle owner obtained security camera footage of the theft from their residence.
The footage showed a suspect matching the description of a youth who was at the 18th Street location with the stolen vehicle, police said.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested and held in custody. His family was notified, police said.
The youth was also issued a ticket for driving without a valid driver’s licence and charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A 43-year-old man has been charged with assault after Brandon police were called to a west end residence about a domestic dispute.
Officers arrived at the home in Willowdale Crescent on Thursday around 1:30 a.m., police said in a news release.
Police said they learned a man had struck a 50-year-old woman and pushed her during an altercation.
The man was arrested without incident and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.
