A man in custody at the Brandon Correctional Centre was arrested for allegedly breaking into an apartment building and stealing two bikes in August, police say.
The man and a woman broke into the building on the 3300 block of Victoria Avenue on Aug. 29 and used bolt cutters to cut bike locks and take two bikes, Brandon police said in a news release on Thursday.
The incident was caught on video surveillance that identified the male suspect, police said.
On Wednesday, officers arrested a 29-year-old man who police say was already in custody in connection with the investigation.
The man faces charges of break and enter to commit theft, failure to comply with a release order, possession of break-in instruments, mischief under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.
The man appeared in court on Thursday and remains in police custody.
