• Oct. 1-10 — Come and join us at the Haller Haunted Forest on Oct. 1 and Oct. 8, from 7:45 to 9 p.m.; Oct. 2-3 and 9-10, from 7:45 to 11 p.m. We are located on Rivers Highway 25, two miles west of Highway 10 or three miles east of Provincial Road 270, half a mile north on Road 110. This is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Cost is $10 per person (cash only) and proceed go to Westman Dreams For Kids Foundation.

• Oct. 2-4 — The Manitoba Barrel Racing Association finals take place at the Assiniboine Credit Union Agricultural Centre over three days. This year we have record numbers for the event. There is no charge to attend and there is also the largest trade show with lots of vendors to check out. We have Open, Youth, Select and Pee Wee age. Oct. 2 and 3 start at 8 a.m. with long goes and Oct. 4 at 8:30 a.m. with the short go for all the prizes.

• Oct 2-4 — Virden Theatre Production presents the Tony-award winning Dear Evan Hansen at the historic Aud Theatre in Virden. Ticket are available for these performances as well as the January 15-17 production of Calendar Girls. All seats are $35. Tickets available online at 3common.com/u/virdentheatreproductions.

• Oct. 3 — Brandon Sunset Rotary is hosting the 14^th annual Beer Tasting Event in the Imperial Ballroom at the Victoria Inn from 7 to 10 p.m. Featuring local and Canadian Craft Beer. Tickets are $40 and include all tasting samples and a light lunch. Tickets are available at all Brandon Liquor Marts. Get your tickets early! This is an 18+ event.

• Oct. 3 — Fall Craft Sale will be held at the Neepawa Legion Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $2. Silent auction.

• Oct. 3 — The Wheat City Run, Brandon’s newest annual running event, takes off from Stanley Park in downtown Brandon. Distances are 0.5 mile (800 meters); 5 km; 10 km and 21.1 km (half marathon). Charity sponsor is Samaritan House Ministries. All finishers receive a shirt and medal. Spectators can enjoy a barbecue and community vibe at the park all in support of a great cause. • Oct .3 — Kaleidoscope Concert Series in Neepawa: The Vince-Tones perform at ArtsForward (293 Mountain Ave., Neepawa) at 7:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 or $25 at the door. For advance tickets, call 204-476-3232. Tickets for students from K-Grade 12 are $5 at the door only.

• Oct .3 — Jokers Canada presents Brandon Comedy Classic at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium (260 20^th Street) at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy the funniest night of the year live at the WMCA. Lineup to be announced. • Oct. 3 — Join us at The Green Spot for our Fashion Show as we showcase the latest Fall and Winter fashions from some of your favorite brands. • Oct. 3 — Steppin’ Out dance at the Royal Canadian Legion No. 3 will be held from 7:30 to 11 p.m. with live music by Northern Reflections. Light lunch served. Cost is $20 at the door.
