• 50 YEARS AGO — Brandon Travellers came from behind with four second-period goals to notch an 8-5 Manitoba Junior Hockey League win over Kenora Thistles. Boyd Mullin and Brad White both scored twice for the Travellers. Simon Sochatsky, Brent Donnelly, Bruno Rogger and Ken Mailey added singles.
• 40 YEARS AGO — Brandon Wheat Kings acquired 19-year-old defenceman Rick Herbert from Saskatoon Blades.
• 20 YEARS AGO — David Burgess, Dion Dechamps, Grant Perrault, Tyson Ramsey and Jeff McGill scored as the Winkler Flyers improved to 6-0-1 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League with a 5-2 triumph over the Neepawa Natives. Jeremy Morken and Troy Stewart replied for Neepawa.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Jaxon Heeney scored a hattrick against Shoal Lake to help keep the Chiefs undefeated in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League. Ryan Heino scored the only other goal for the Chiefs, who won the contest 4-1.
