The Brandon Sportsplex parking lot will be repaved next year, council voted last week.

The project will cost $326,754, with $235,000 coming from the province. The remaining funds will be taken from a city reserve.

City council last week awarded a contract worth $311,194 to Zenith Paving Ltd., which had the lowest of three bids.

A city document suggests parking restrictions and disruptions to vehicle access would take place during construction next year.

Council also voted last week to spend $96,110 for the installation of a hydronic pre-heating coil at the Sportsplex. The coil is intended to help “ensure optimal performance of the air handling system at the facility,” according to a council report attached to last week’s meeting agenda.

The coil installation had initially been planned for last year, but was not completed until this year, the report said.
