A 38-year-old man is facing multiple charges after Mounties say he threatened a man with a sawed-off shotgun outside a home in Ebb and Flow First Nation more than a week ago.
Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP responded to the incident around 8 p.m. on Oct. 25 and determined a 48-year-old man had gone to the residence to visit a friend, police said in a news release on Tuesday.
The victim said he was approached by the man, who accused him of being there to visit his girlfriend.
The man struck the victim in the chest and pulled a sawed-off shotgun from his backpack, RCMP said.
The suspect then pointed the firearm at the victim’s face and threatened him repeatedly before the victim left the area.
On Monday, the suspect surrendered to a First Nations safety officer and the RCMP arrested him.
The man from Ebb and Flow First Nation has been charged with pointing a firearm, assault, uttering threats and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was remanded into custody.
