Democrat Sean McCann won election Wednesday to the U.S. House of Representatives representing Michigan’s 4th Congressional District, defeating Republican incumbent Bill Huizenga. McCann, a state senator who pitched himself as a bipartisan problem-solver for the southwest Michigan district, blocked Huizenga from winning a ninth term in the House. Huizenga consulted with Trump before deciding not to run for the open U.S. Senate seat this year. The Associated Press declared McCann the winner at 1:13 p.m. EST.
