Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 22/05/2010 (5817 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
Before the first puck dropped, journalists across the country penned thousands of words and shot countless photos and hours of footage in preparation for the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup.
To date, more than 155 reporters and 30 photographers representing dozens of media outlets including 12 different national and regional television stations, have provided round-the-clock coverage of the 10-day event.
A contingent of media has travelled from Calgary, Windsor and Moncton to cover the event. The Windsor Spitfires alone have five different media outlets covering their road to the cup but Manitoba-based media outlets take the cake in terms of the most accredited photographers and journalists covering the event.
This doesn’t include the Canadian Hockey League’s broadcast partners Rogers Sportsnet and RDS that combined form a crew of about 30 people, plus the five different radio stations covering the event including one from each of the four competing teams plus the FAN 590 in Toronto.
