Teams in Brandon are gearing up for the Heart & Stroke Big Bike, an important fundraising event that embodies team spirit and physical activity.

“The Big Bike ride is a fun, team-spirited event that raises money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba (HSFM) and helps increase awareness of heart disease and stroke,” says Vanessa Shaff, Provincial Program Manager for the Big Bike. “It’s a great way to get outdoors, enjoy some physical activity and have fun with your friends, family, and co-workers while contributing to an excellent cause.”

The Big Bike spans eight feet across and is 30 feet long with seating for 29 people and one driver. Each ride is approximately 3-4 km and takes roughly 20 minutes to complete. Teams are made up of colleagues, friends and family members who each collect personal pledges prior to the event. A great team-building activity, some groups have theme songs, bring along mascots, wear matching attire, or ride in honour of a loved one.
