EDMONTON – AutoCanada Inc. says it has bought Contemporary Coachworks, a collision repair business based in Calgary with two locations.

Financial terms of the deal were not immediately available.

The company says the acquisition gives it its first luxury collision repair presence in Calgary. The acquired business includes one location serving the northern side of the city and another serving the south side.

Contemporary Coachworks holds certifications across 15 brands, including Tesla, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Volvo, Acura and Volkswagen. 

AutoCanada operates 64 franchised auto dealerships in Canada, comprised of 23 brands across eight provinces as well as three independent used auto dealerships. It also has more than 30 collision centres.

The company is in the process of selling its U.S. dealership portfolio, which operates under the Leader Automotive Group name and operates 10 franchised dealerships comprised of seven brands.
