Prairie Mountain Health will run COVID-19 and flu clinics for people ages five and up next week for first, second and third doses, depending on eligibility.

Due to a shortage of the Pfizer vaccine, however, PMH COVID vaccine clinics will recommend the Moderna vaccine for people 30 and older for their first, second or third dose. Ages 12 to 29 will receive the Pfizer vaccine.

Clinics will be a combination of walk-in and booked appointments or strictly walk-in as indicated.

Individuals can book appointments for other people but require the client’s Manitoba Health card number.

Children aged five to 11 who received their first COVID dose on Nov. 26 are eligible for their second dose starting today. Parents and guardians can now book second-dose appointments or visit walk-in clinics.

In Brandon, the Keystone Centre supersite will host clinics Jan. 26 from noon to 7 p.m., Jan. 27 from noon to 7 p.m. and Jan. 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Visitors should enter off of 13th Street to access the site.

There will also be a walk-in-only clinic for children ages five to 11 at The Town Centre in the Library (800 Rosser Ave.) on Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Dauphin, the vaccine site at the Ukrainian Orthodox Hall (304 Whitmore Ave. East) will run Jan. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Jan. 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Miniota will have a walk-in-only clinic at the Community Hall (568 Miniota Rd.) on Jan. 24 from 1 to 6 p.m.

Swan River is having a walk-in-only clinic at the Veterans Hall (119 6th Ave. North) on Jan. 27 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Waskada is having a walk-in-only clinic at Waskada School, on Second Street, on Jan. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m.

You can book your appointment for any of the COVID doses based on the eligibility listed either online at patient.petal-health.com/login?groupId=6032 or by calling (toll-free) 1-844-626-8222.

First-dose eligibility: Age five years and up for the Pfizer vaccine, and 18 years and up for the Moderna vaccine.

Second-dose eligibility: Ages 12 and up — at least 28 days after the first dose. Ages five to 11 years old — eight weeks after the first dose or a minimum of 21 days for children living in First Nations communities.

Third-dose eligibility: At least six months after your second dose and aged 18 years and up. Anyone age 50 or older or 18 or older who lives in a First Nations community and received their second dose five months ago can now receive their third dose.

Eligibility criteria are subject to change. Check gov.mb.ca/covid19/vaccine/eligibility-criteria.html#third for updates.
