Librarians near you may soon be trading shushes for cheers.
CBC is teaming up with libraries across Canada to host free Olympics watch parties.
The public broadcaster says more than 800 libraries nationwide will screen parts of the Milian Cortina Winter Games in both English and French.
The Winter Olympics run from Friday to Feb. 22, while the Paralympics are March 6 to 15.
Several libraries will air Friday’s opening ceremony, promising snacks, games and crafting activities.
Wondering how loud you’ll be allowed to root for Team Canada? A CBC spokesperson said attendees should check with their local libraries about noise policies, as each location has its own specific guidelines.
The initiative is part of Collab, a partnerships program that aims to see CBC collaborate more deeply with Canadians through a wide range of activities.
