MONTRÉAL – Quebec pop singer Charlotte Cardin has been forced to cancel her performances at four festivals in France due to a vocal cord injury.
The singer made the announcement on Thursday in a story on her Instagram account.
No other concerts are currently listed on Cardin’s official website.
Cardin recently released the sultry, alt-pop tracks “Take Me Back” and “The Way We Touch,” which follow the success of her award-wining 2023 album “99 Nights.”
Her European tour started in April with several dates in France, as well as stops in Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, and the Netherlands, among others.
The singer told fans in her post that she was “deeply sorry and saddened” to have to cancel.
“I have a vocal cord injury that has already forced me to cancel several concerts and that, unfortunately, isn’t healing fast enough for me to resume performing this summer,” she said on social media.
She added: “On the advice of my doctors, I must continue to rest my voice and give my vocal cords time to heal before I can return to the stage.”
The singer-songwriter said she won’t be performing at the V and B Fest’ in Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne, the Cabaret Vert in Charleville-Mézières, the Rose Festival in Toulouse, or the Ici Live La Ciotat Festival.
