It’ll be a new month and a return to the old school for students at Kirkcaldy Heights.

The school was closed earlier this month as flood concerns peaked. Students were attending classes at Brandon University.

But, as flood concerns ebb along with the river’s level, the Brandon School Division has decided it’s time for students to get back in their own building.

Friday, May 27, will be the final day of classes for Kirkcaldy Heights School at Brandon University. But students will get a bit of an extra-long weekend.

The school will be closed to students on Monday, May 30 and Tuesday, May 31, to allow time for staff to get set up.

Classes at Kirkcaldy Heights will resume at the regular time on Wednesday, June 1.

Buses that have been routed through Kemnay due to the flooding situation will resume normal operations once the Highway 110 access is reopened. However, some traffic restrictions will still be affecting route times.

Routes Yellow 1, Orange 2, Orange 3, Orange 4 and Red 7 will board their buses 15 minutes earlier than their normal pickup times North of the river.

Buses Yellow 4, Yellow 5 and Yellow 6 will resume their normal pickup times.
