FT SASKATCHEWAN, Alta. – An Alberta Mountie has been charged and placed on administrative duties after a person was punched during a mental health call.

Const. Justin Forster is facing one count of assault causing bodily harm.

Officers went to a home in Fort Saskatchewan, northeast of Edmonton, and arrested a suicidal person in March 2024.

RCMP say a fight broke out and the person was punched and taken to hospital.

They say the officer has been placed on administrative duties.

He is to appear in Fort Saskatchewan court on April 3.
